Critics' Picks: Decanter Names Italy's Rising Stars

This Decanter feature highlights up-and-coming Italian producers making exceptional wine. Ian D’Agata recommended Quintodecimo, which is the latest forum of Luigi Moio, a professor of oenology at Naples University and one of Italy’s greatest consultant winemakers. Moio focuses on making Campania wines that have big structure and are meant to age. Monty Waldin recommends Pian dell’Orino in Tuscany. Owners Jan Erbach and Caroline Pobitzer farm organically and biodynamically, borrowing certain practices from Burgundy such as treating specific plots for different results.
